Dear All, It’s now 3 weeks since we had our tearful departure from Halifax. Adapting to this travelling lark day by day. Whether you like it or not we will be constantly updating you on our escapades in fine detail. Our Round The World trip began on Sunday 11th May 2003 (Julie & John’s 1st Wedding Anniversary – Congrats). The day started in a hung-over state (unplanned!) and proceeded to be a mad rush until we left (nothing new there then!). The only thing we left ourselves to do before departure was re-pack the backpacks, but from 10am to 1pm this was not the focus of our attentions. M’s Mum was the first to arrive after her weekend jaunt to Rothwell, followed soon after by L’s Mum & Dad on their way up to Scotland for a well deserved weeks holiday. Sarah arrived soon after with a surprise guest, Eleisha, who couldn’t make it to the leaving do so it was great to see her; unfortunately it was only brief. Les cooked us a fantastic send off breakfast (through the tears). The last to join the party were Michelle then Iain (our chauffeur to Heathrow) who proceeded to read the weeks TV guide and tell us the good films we’d be missing!
