See this TripWow and more at The Lonar crater “Managed to strike a good deal with the travel agent to go to Lonar as he was sending a car to pick up his daughter from nearby. Lonar’s tourist attraction is basically a saltwater lake which formed in the crater of a meteor impact a long time ago. I was dropped off to one side of the lake which seemed to contain a small holy village. There seemed to be no clear directions on how to get down to the lake through the dense ring of trees surrounding it and the stone path which seemed to lead down was cordoned off. I asked some locals and some kids ended up pointing me in a direction. I was dubious that this would be the main path as it was not marked properly and didn’t seem to be well used. I nevertheless started making my way down, guessing at which direction to go. I passed a couple of temples and the further down I got the denser the flora became. I was the only one around and I was admittedly scared. The lake was not far but every time I tried to head towards it I was forced back as I couldn’t get through the undergrowth. On top of that I managed to cut my toe on a thorn and kept hearing things around me. I decided to pick up a big stick to ward of any unwelcome company. I eventually managed to get through the undergrowth after walking into a couple of spider webs and onto the banks of the lake. Like most
